Wreck Protect project logo proposal

The wreckage in our proposal is supposed to resemble a shipwreck - made up of wreckage. The wrekage can also be used as a graphical element as on left-hand side of the top banner.

The photo is not GEUS copyright, t is merely used to illustrate, how the logo could be used.

Colour
WP must decide on a colour scheme for the project logo. We suggest a colour scheme consisting of two colours. Bear in mind that a colour logo will not work on every coloured background!

Frame, box or no box
There should also be a black and a white version og the logo as shown below. A coloured box can be put behind the logo as shown in the white version. We do NOT favour the use of an outline box (frame) around the logo - it is comparable to underlining headings in a book...

w or W
We prefer the version where "wreck" is written with a lower case (small) "w". It is not gramatically correct but in graphic design, especially logo design anything goes. The important thing is to make the logo astetically pleasing and easily recognisable (stand out in a crowd). The use of the lower case "w" helps readability of the merged project name whilst at the same time splits the words into two visualle thereby putting emphasis on "Protect" - this is especially true for the B/W versions of the logo.

We have chosen to work with this version 1 of the logo as version 3 (shown at the bottom) is too clumsy. The wreckage part of logo 3 could however be used as a graphical element.

Logo 1 for the Wreck Protect Project - with lower case "w"

This is our preferred version of this logo - our preference is based on pofsessional objectivity and not on personal preference.
